As part of the 34th anniversary of the Nuevo León–Laredo Customs Office, COMCE Noreste reaffirmed its commitment to foreign trade and regional competitiveness by participating in the First Bernardo Reyes – Tomás Sánchez Binational Summit, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation between Mexico and the United States.

Boosting Infrastructure and Economic Integration

During the event, which brought together business leaders and Mexican and Texan authorities, Luis Javier Cendejas Meneses, President of COMCE Noreste, moderated the panel “Nuevo León–Texas Economic Corridor: The Golden Corridor”. Discussions focused on consolidating the binational logistics axis, the region’s role as a hub for advanced manufacturing, and Laredo’s position as a gateway for international trade in North America.

The summit was led by Governor Samuel García, who announced a historic USD 17 billion investment to transform the Nuevo León–Laredo customs into the most important commercial crossing between Mexico and the United States. Agreements were also formalized in infrastructure, sustainability, and binational healthcare, while new import lanes were inaugurated to improve logistics efficiency.

Alliances for Logistics Competitiveness

COMCE Noreste promoted a vision of Nuevo León as a globally connected state, with world-class logistics capabilities aligned with economic integration trends. Business leaders such as Hernán Saldívar (DICEX), Glenn Hamer (Texas Association of Business), and Alfonso de los Ríos (Nowports) highlighted the importance of agile infrastructure, innovation in logistics, and sustainable public-private partnerships.

The event also included panels on the TX-255 Corridor and the Nuevo León–Laredo land port, featuring representatives from the Texas Department of Transportation, CODEFRONT, and binational companies committed to smart infrastructure and cross-border connectivity.

COMCE Noreste expressed gratitude to the Government of Nuevo León, CODEFRONT, Dr. Marco A. González, and Devorah Karren, reaffirming its role as a strategic ally for regional competitiveness. With its active participation, the organization strengthens its position as a promoter of a dynamic binational agenda that enhances Mexico’s role as a North American logistics platform.
