Mexico, seventh automobile producer in the world

It is expected that by 2022, Mexico will remain the seventh global automobile product , having a growth of 17.12% compared to 2021 .
According to JD Power , the consulting firm specializing in the automotive industry , the country has an installed manufacturing capacity of 5,364,000 units , although it has not yet reached the expected annual production of 3,403,000 units this year , for which is expected to grow in vehicle assembly, since in 2021 it was 2,979,000 cars .
Globally, the industry forecast is that 85,268,244 units will be manufactured in the world in 2022 , 30.3% from China, 12.1% from the United States, 9.2% produced in Japan, Germany will represent 5.5%, Korea with 5.4%, India will have 4.5% and Mexico will cover 4.1 percent .
It should be noted that the destination of the vehicles manufactured in the country will be 76.5% the United States, 6.6% for Canada, 5.3% for Germany, it is expected that it will be 1.5% for Colombia and 1.1% sent to Brazil.
In the JD Power study , in 2021 it was estimated that a production of 9.6 million units was lost, and the main reason for the loss of global production was due to the lack of semiconductors with 84% , the remaining percentage is due to the Covid -19, climate change, protests, logistics, market delays, among others. And of the total amount of unassembled units, Mexico represented 6% of global losses.
Regarding the forecast for this 2022, the global production loss will be reduced with 8,008,401 units .
