In January 2025, Taiwan's exports to Mexico surged by 479% compared to the same month the previous year, reaching USD 2.7 billion. This remarkable growth was primarily driven by shipments of graphics processing units (GPUs) for artificial intelligence servers.
Moreover, more than 300 Taiwanese companies currently operate in Mexico, with significant investments in sectors such as electronics and e-mobility. These business ties have positioned both nations as key allies within the global supply chain.
Against this backdrop, the Metropolitan Automotive Cluster (Clúster Automotriz Metropolitano, ClautMet) participated as a special guest at the opening ceremony of AMPA 2025 and E-Mobility Taiwan, held on April 24 in Taipei. Elisa Crespo, Executive President of ClautMet, led the Mexican delegation at Asia’s most prominent automotive trade fair. The event was also attended by notable figures including James C.F. Huang, Chairman of TAITRA; Cynthia Kiang, Taiwan’s Vice Minister of Economic Affairs; and Martín Torres Rubio, Head of the Office of Documentation and Culture of Mexico in Taipei.
ClautMet stood out at the event by bringing a delegation of Mexican companies such as Grupo Zeit (logistics), Prolamsa (tubing and CNC cutting), Grupo Sachman (quality and inspections), and Segula Technologies (CAE design and validation). Furthermore, Elisa Crespo is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on April 25 titled *“The Importance of Asian Investment and Supply Chain Integration in Mexico,”* focusing on the opportunities bilateral cooperation offers to the automotive sector.
ClautMet’s presence at AMPA 2025 underscores Mexico’s commitment to innovation, e-mobility, and the expansion of its value chains toward Asia.
