Metalsa inaugurates plant in Guanajuato: They will produce the chassis of the new Tacoma for Toyota

They will manufacture chassis for the new Tacoma pickup
Metalsa recently inaugurated the company's new facilities in Apaseo El Grande , Guanajuato , where the chassis for the next generation of the Tacoma truck will be manufactured , for the Toyota automaker .
This new Metalsa plant is located within the facilities of the Toyota Industrial Park , where Grupo Proeza invested 180 million dollars to create 1,000 new jobs and manufacture 308,000 chassis per year.
This first factory of the company has zero emissions from mobile equipment, that is, 100% of material handling is with electrical equipment and has a total area of 63,000 square meters.
It should be noted that this will be the only plant for Mexican suppliers (Tier 1) of automotive structures outside the North of the country, and was specially built to supply the chassis of the next generation of the Tacoma model armed in Guanajuato and Baja California.
Metalsa, a benchmark in the manufacture of chassis and components for the automotive industry
The Mexican company Metalsa belongs to the Proeza Group, which has more than 65 years of experience in the automotive industry and with a global presence. It is a benchmark in the manufacture of chassis and structural components for the light and commercial vehicle sectors.
Currently, it supplies the market with manufacturing plants, offices, technology centers, and sequencing centers in the United States, Argentina, Brazil, India, Japan, Mexico, and Thailand.
Grupo Proeza is originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León, and is a family business group focused on long-term growth within the Industrial, agro-industrial and health sectors, with a presence in nine countries, with more than 13,000 employees.
The organization is made up of Metalsa , a leading manufacturer of automotive components specializing in chassis structures; Citrofrut , specialized in fresh and processed fruit; Proeza Ventures , a venture capital investing in startups in the mobility space; and PHP , focused on recruiting nursing staff in hospitals in the United States.
Toyota will invest $328 million in hybrid production of Tacoma in Guanajuato

Toyota committed to invest 328 million dollars to adapt its production processes in Guanajuato for the new hybrid model of the Tacoma truck , for the North American market.
Present at this inauguration ceremony were Enrique Zambrano Benítez, Chairman of the Board of Grupo Proeza ; José Luis Oliveros Usabiaga, municipal president of Apaseo el Grande; Ramón Alfaro Gómez, Secretary of Sustainable Economic Development ; and Leopoldo Cedillo Villareal, president of Grupo Proeza .
Also in attendance were Juan Carlos Zambrano Benítez, director of Metalsa ; Greg Lasky, vice president of purchasing, supplier development, Toyota North America ; Juan Francisco García López, president of Toyota Guanajuato ; Jorge Garza Garza, president of Metalsa, and Ciro Valdés Espinosa, vice president of the Metalsa Light Vehicles Business Unit.
