Mercury Marine expands operations in Juarez

Mercury Marine, leading company dedicated to the manufacturing of boats, expanded its operations in Ciudad Juarez.

The industrial complex of this company will include, in total 52,659 m2, already with the addition of 7,154 m2 of expansion. In total, it took about 7 months of construction.

This expansion supposes an investment of more than 150 million pesos and it is estimated that an approximate growth of 33 % will potentially generate 300 more jobs in the city.

In the new facilities will be fulfilled, likewise, electric systems for all engines the company manufactures. These operations will represent an approximate growth of 33 percent.

According to Betzy Reyes, leader of communication and marketing of the company, this expansion responds to a confidence vote the corporate has placed in the Juarez plant.

“Thanks to the excellent performance of our people and of the high quality of their product, our Brunswick corporate, as well as the company directive, have decided to trust our Juarez plant with more business for future releases of products that will continue revolutionizing the marine industry around the world,” explained Betzy Reyes.

During the opening ceremony of the expansion, four company executives, including the vice-president of operations John Buelow, were present, Buelow addressed some words to the 700 employees of the plant in Juarez and unveiled a commemorative plate.

“In order for our expansion reaches its maximum capability, we will focus on taking advantage of new technology evolution, we are struggling to improve our processes even more in all aspects: engineering, logistics, and layout, as well as to increase personnel training in all levels comprehensively, we would like for them to acquire the skills for their work and daily life, in and outside the plant,” shared the company.

Since 1979 this is the third expansion fulfilled in the plant.

“The goal is to take the plant to the next level and to achieve this, Vicente Rodriguez, general manager of the Juarez plant together with his staff, is leading a renovation strategy in the most important areas included in the entire plant operation,” ended the company.
