Mercado Libre has launched a new Cross-Dock Logistics Center in Cuautitlán Izcalli, State of Mexico, as part of its expansion strategy in the country. The facility represents an investment of MXN 2.5 billion (USD 140 million) and stands as the company’s largest cross-dock operation in Latin America.

The new complex features 80,000 square meters of operational space and can process up to 600,000 packages per day, significantly strengthening the company’s national e-commerce distribution network. According to Mercado Libre, the center will generate more than 1,000 direct jobs.

Logistics Infrastructure and Operational Capacity

With this addition, the State of Mexico further solidifies its position as one of the country’s leading logistics hubs. The state currently hosts 389 distribution centers, representing 13% of the national total, and supports approximately 699,000 jobs in logistics and distribution-related activities.

The site was selected due to its connectivity to key infrastructure, including the Mexico–Laredo Highway, the Toluca–Atlacomulco industrial corridor, the national freight rail network, and proximity to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA). These factors enable high-volume shipment operations and reduced delivery times.

Mercado Libre’s Investment in the State of Mexico

David Geisen, General Director of Mercado Libre Mexico and Senior Vice President of Commerce for Hispanic Markets, stated that the new logistics center will expand the company’s operational capacity in the country while reinforcing the State of Mexico as a strategic e-commerce node.

He noted that the infrastructure was designed to meet sustained demand growth and improve distribution efficiency across the national market.

Throughout 2025, Mercado Libre accumulated more than USD 650 million in investments in the State of Mexico, building a workforce of over 15,000 employees in the region, supported by its strong logistics and operational advantages.

The new cross-dock facility is now integrated into Mercado Libre’s national distribution network and is expected to have a direct impact on logistics competitiveness in central Mexico, amid continued e-commerce growth and evolving supply chain dynamics.
