MELECS, a specialist in electronics, has announced a $14 million investment over the coming years to expand its facility in Querétaro and create 60 new jobs, according to Bernhard Pulferer, the company's CEO.
The meeting took place at the company's headquarters in Vienna, Austria, with Mauricio Kuri, governor of Querétaro, and Andreas Kube, CEO of MELECS Querétaro, in attendance.
Kube emphasized the competitive advantages that the state offers to the industrial sector. He detailed that, in addition to the initial investment of $9 million, there are plans to invest $5 million annually from 2025 to 2027 for the manufacturing plant of control systems and lights.
"We are planning to invest $9 million this year in the expansion of our plant in Querétaro, especially in high-tech equipment. And in the coming years, from 2025 to 2027, there will be another $5 million per year. This will generate more than 60 jobs, and we feel very comfortable investing in Querétaro," noted Kube.
Kube mentioned that the new positions at the plant are targeted towards highly skilled engineers and machine operators, who are trusted to manufacture safe and intelligent products.
MELECS arrived in Querétaro in 2018 and has since become one of the leading providers of electronic manufacturing services and harnesses for the aerospace and industrial sectors.
Also present at the executive meeting were Niklas Hanusch, Senior VP of Finance and Legal; Ricardo Viveros, CFO of MELECS Querétaro; the mayor of Querétaro; the Secretary of Sustainable Development; and the Director of Industrial Development of SEDESU.
