Sara Hernández has been appointed as the new interim executive director of the Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation (EDC). With a wealth of experience in leadership roles focused on economic development promotion, community engagement, and directing tourism initiatives in Rio Grande City and Main Street, Hernández brings a strong foundation to her new position.

In a statement released by Rio Grande City, confidence in Hernández's ability to lead economic development efforts at the EDC and to promote the city to new projects was emphasized.

Hernández's appointment as interim executive director was made during the EDC directors' meeting in February, coinciding with the announcement of Dalinda Guillen's resignation, who had served as EDC director for a decade.

Rey Ramírez, president of the Rio Grande City EDC board, highlighted the organization's accomplishments in recent years, including attracting new investments, job creation, infrastructure development, and improving quality of life in the city.

"In recognition of exemplary service as EDC director, we express our deepest gratitude to Dalinda Guillen for a decade of unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and tireless efforts that have propelled the Rio Grande City Economic Development Corporation forward," Ramírez expressed.
