Mexico: A Strategic Hub for MEDC

In an effort to attract new investments focused on industrial developments, warehouses, and storage facilities, the Economic Development Corporation of the city of Mission (MEDC) continues its active campaign for international business trips, with Mexico emerging as a strategic point of focus, specifically in states like San Luis Potosí, Tamaulipas, and Nuevo León.

Teclo Garcia, CEO of MEDC, stated that these meetings have been organized with the participation of authorities, economic development directors, business chambers, cluster directors, and manufacturing associations like INDEX, all of whom have shown great interest in the various competitive advantages offered by the city of Mission. For instance, the upcoming opening of truck lanes on the Anzalduas International Bridge is a notable advantage that has garnered attention.

Mission: A Strategic Gateway to Mexico

The promotion of the city emphasizes that Mission is situated within Rio South Texas, a region with immediate connectivity to Mexico via international bridges to Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, as well as cargo airports and maritime terminals extending across the entire border region.

Apart from Mexico, MEDC actively participates in various events throughout the United States and maintains interest in other international work meetings. Teclo highlighted their efforts with China and Germany.

"The city is making significant investments in infrastructure to cater to all commercial needs with nearshoring. This phenomenon is not transient; we are convinced it will bring lasting benefits. We are keen on attracting investments from Mexico and other countries with which we have also engaged, such as China and Germany. In reality, we are seeking all companies looking to establish themselves in the right location with facilities for their trade processes."

Incentive Offerings

In Mission, Texas, one of the primary areas of opportunity lies in the development of warehouses and storage spaces, driven by the growth of the logistics sector, which increasingly demands more agile routes close to manufacturing processes and their consumers.

Another advantage the city offers to new investors is the provision of incentives, ongoing support for their operations, and assistance in finding industrial land. Teclo added, "Our competitive advantages as the city of Mission are enhanced when we promote ourselves as part of the Rio South Texas region. Together, we are stronger. Currently, we are in the prime position to attract investments, bolster the workforce, harness manufacturing expertise, and capitalize on the quality of life we provide. Every industry will discover numerous opportunities here."
