In June 2025, the Port of Manzanillo processed more than 6,700 customs inspections with response times aligned to international standards, strengthening its position as a strategic hub for Mexico’s foreign trade.
According to the National Customs Agency of Mexico (ANAM), each customs officer handled an average of nearly 200 inspections per month, enabling fluid operations without backlogs despite the port’s high cargo volumes.
Meeting International Standards in Customs Processes
Globally, customs inspections are conducted within an average timeframe of three hours. In Mexico, including Manzanillo, clearance times fall within this same range, reinforcing the country’s reliability in the eyes of major international markets.
The port’s operational efficiency not only supports supply chain security but also ensures national supply, while expansion plans move forward under the Government of Mexico’s strategic projects. These include the development of 1,800 hectares of storage space, enabling the port to handle up to 10 million containers.
Manzanillo: A Leading Port in Latin America
The Port of Manzanillo is projected to become the most important port in Latin America and among the top 20 worldwide, consolidating its status as a key player in global trade and logistics.
