Kuka Home Mexico Invests $150 Million in Plant Expansion, Creates 1,000 Jobs in Nuevo León
Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León, witnessed the inauguration of Kuka Home Mexico's plant expansion on January 18, with a substantial investment of $150 million. Located in the Interpuerto Monterrey, the company aims to generate 1,000 jobs initially, with plans to reach 2,500 employees by year-end. The Chinese firm is optimistic about the potential to expand the workforce to 5,000 at the plant.
The expansion, announced in 2022, became a reality after 20 months, with the primary objective of enhancing cost-effectiveness in freight and optimizing the supply chain.

In Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León, Kuka Home has invested approximately $135 million. According to Daniel Zhao, the General Manager of Kuka Home Mexico, the Monterrey factory provides essential services to clients in the North American market and has strategic collaborations with major brands. By 2026, the company envisions achieving a production value of $115 million with a workforce of 5,000 employees.
Kuka Home is a leading global manufacturer in the design, development, and production of upholstered furniture. Operating in China, Vietnam, and Mexico, North America remains its most significant market, employing 25,000 people worldwide.
Nuevo León's Investment Climate
During the inauguration, Governor Samuel García highlighted the advantages of Kuka Home Mexico's presence in Nuevo León, emphasizing the state's infrastructure developments, including road extensions and the expanded International Airport. He also announced the establishment of a duty-free zone at Puerto Colombia, urging companies to take advantage of the tax-free benefits.
Economy Secretary Iván Rivas mentioned that Nuevo León anticipates a prosperous year, with a portfolio of projects from over 100 companies interested in investing $10 billion in the state. These companies, spanning the automotive, electromobility, and information technology sectors, hail from the United States, China, and other parts of the world.
