KUKA Group, a global leader in industrial automation and robotics, has announced a new investment to establish a Research and Development (R&D) Center in the Research and Technological Innovation Park (PIIT) in Nuevo León, Mexico.
This strategic initiative aims to strengthen the company’s presence in Mexico and promote innovation within the framework of Industry 4.0.
The announcement was made during a meeting between KUKA executives and Nuevo León Governor Samuel García, as part of the governor’s European tour. The discussion also explored opportunities for collaboration in dual education programs and strategies to boost automation across the region.
“We’re very excited because KUKA is coming to Nuevo León’s PIIT to open its Research and Development Center. There, we’ll evaluate the Dual Education model—where in Nuevo León, students split their day between classes and work. Here at KUKA, it’s six months of work, six months of school. We’ll compare both models to find the most competitive setup for robotics and bring it to Nuevo León,” said Governor García.
KUKA Robotics specializes in smart automation solutions, including industrial robots, software, and automated production systems for sectors such as automotive, electronics, healthcare, and logistics.
The new facility in Nuevo León will enhance research capabilities in these fields and promote technology transfer, helping to accelerate the region’s technological development and position it as a hub for advanced manufacturing.
