Kostal begins the construction of its fourth plant in Mexico in Querétaro

Grupo Kostal , the multinational company of German origin in the automotive sector, laid the first stone of its fourth plant in the country in Querétaro, in which it invests more than 2,097 million pesos and will generate 750 new jobs .
The new complex, which will consist of an extension of 41,000 square meters, will be the first power electronics plant of the company in North America.
The president and CEO of Kostal North America , Harry Asher, explained that this investment will allow the company to efficiently serve the production operations of customers in North America.
In addition, it responds to a rapidly growing market for the supply of power electronics solutions , original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their consumers.
Kostal , he said, will be a key player in the future of mobility as vehicles become connected to the grid, with a systems approach to sustainability with integrated energy solutions for consumers.
For his part, the CSO and Americas of Kostal Automobil Elektrik , Tino Naumann, specified that this new state-of-the-art plant will manufacture power electronic components for the electric vehicle market.
Phase one will be completed in 2023 and will manufacture OBC (on board charger ), as well as different electronic components to serve the growing market for electric vehicles. The facility will feature advanced technologies and provide a clean environment for production.
The new electronics plant will be located in the FINSA III Industrial Park, Carretera San Luis Potosí – Querétaro km. 23, Santa Rosa Jáuregui Delegation, Querétaro, which, Naumann assured, will be a pillar in this opening advance and the beginning of another success story for Kostal and Querétaro.
In his speech, the German ambassador to Mexico, Wolfgang Dold, reported that in Mexico there are more than 2,000 companies with German capital, of which there are almost 400 in the Bajío (of these, 192 in Querétaro).
With this plant, which will be an essential component in the transition towards electromobility, he explained, Kostal expands its presence in Mexico to four plants, which dates back almost half a century, which places it in the category of pioneering German companies in Mexico. .
He stressed that German companies are actively participating in the transition of the automotive sector, which has been one of the pillars of their economies for both Germany and Mexico.
