Korean company Samsong arrives in Ramos Arizpe

Projects continue arriving
in Coahuila since the announcement was made about the arrival of the Korean
company Samsong, a fact that allows the State endorsed the entity status which
led the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) list per capita.
The automotive Asian
company specializes in safety belts and systems production, being supplier for
KIA Motors and Hyundai.
The company will be
installed in Ramos Arizpe thanks to an initial investment of 15 million dollars
and will generate 500 direct jobs and the beginning of operations is
anticipated for January 2020.
Hyungchang Lee, owner and
CEO of Samsong, said that the objective of his company is contributing to Ramos
Arizpe development and in turn he thanked and congratulated himself for
investing in Coahuila.
“My company is dedicated to
saving lives, as we manufacture safety belts, I am sure more companies will
come to invest in this state as we felt very welcomed by Coahuila,” said the
businessman.
Meanwhile,
Miguel Angel Riquelme, governor of the State, said that with the arrival of
this new investment an economic strength message is send of the State of
Coahuila.
He added that more than 500
direct jobs will be generated at the beginning of its operations, they gives
the certainty of that the correct path is followed, and also provides
responsibility to continue working keeping Coahuila employment stability, as
that what international companies are looking for today.
Likewise he said that it is
important for Coahuila to continue generating qualified workforce required by
the country, and to face globalization challenges, he thanked Samsong for
trusted Coahuila and confirmed their support to work closely and promote future
expansion projects, thus contributing to state’s economy.
Jose Maria Morales Padilla,
mayor of Ramos Arizpe was present at the announcement as well as Jaime Guerra
Perez, secretary of Economy; Jorge Ramon Montemayor, undersecretary of
Promotion and Strategic Projects; Dongwon Jong, president of Samsong and Kiuji
Park, representative of Citius Capital for Korea.
