Kia confirms new investment in its Nuevo León plant and announces production of a new electric car

As part of the strategies to attract investment and care for the environment , Kia Mexico announced the expansion of its plant in Pesquería, Nuevo León, as well as the production of its new electric car.
The Kia plant in Nuevo León began operations in May 2016 and has a production capacity of 400,000 vehicles per year. The plant employs around 3,000 people and produces several car models, including the Kia Forte and Kia Rio .
"Today is the time for Nuevo León. We say it with great pride and are very happy that Kia is part of it. This economic boom that we are experiencing will benefit everyone in the state with better jobs, a healthier environment , the best conditions to invest, the mobility that we should always have so that we all have a better quality of life," said Samuel García, governor of Nuevo León.
In addition, the state president pointed out that one of the main objectives is to move from the traditional industry to the industry of the future, and thanked Eui Chul Jeon, Kia 's president of strategic business planning , for choosing Nuevo León for its growth.
