KB Components expands in Mexico; chooses Irapuato to open second plant

KB Components confirmed it will open a second plant in Mexico , and the new facility will be located in the city of Irapuato, Guanajuato.
One of the reasons why the Swedish company chose this region is because it stands out as the second largest automotive cluster in Mexico; and will serve both industrial and automotive customers requiring injection molded plastic components and assembly operations.
Lars Holtskog, vice president of KB Components, declared that the capital injection in Irapuato was considered necessary to satisfy the demand of the clients that are in the country, for which it motivated them to install a second plant to be closer to their customers. customers.
“We approach a wide range of OEMs, as well as Tier 1 customers. Here, we will introduce the same philosophy that we have in our other production facilities, counting on a high degree of automation and continuous monitoring, to ensure the best quality and operational excellence, ”he said.
At the same time, the factory they have in Puebla is going through a process of large investments related to the recent nominations obtained with Volkswagen , Audi and Volvo Cars .
Following this expansion, which is expected to be completed in early 2022, KB Components will now operate eight facilities located in: Gislaved and Örkelljunga, Sweden; Kaunas, Lithuania; Zilina, Slovakia; Wuxi, China; Puebla and Irapuato, Mexico; Windsor, Canada.
