KAMAX Mexico begins operations in Guanajuato

Germany
reinforces its ties with Guanajuato by opening the KAMAX Mexico plant at the
Colinas de Leon Industrial Park, becoming the number 44 German company settling
in the State.
The
German company has 12 plants worldwide and for the settling of its factory in
the region, it fulfilled a 45 million dollar investment and will generate about
215 jobs.
KAMAX
Mexico specializes in the manufacturing of high resistance fastening elements
for the automotive industry and the products that will be made in this plant
are focused on the North American market. In addition, among its customers
are Volkswagen, Audi, BMW, Bosch, Continental, General Motors and Ford.
Joerg
Steins, CEO of KAMAX Group, noted that they are recognized worldwide in the
Industry as cold forming shaped complex pieces, therefore, they have customers
seeking high-quality products and with the first-class service.
He
detailed that with the construction of their plant in Leon, Guanajuato, - which
lasted 12 months – can be exemplified what the company could be by implementing
teamwork.
And to
keep the quality of their products, the first machinery operators they hired
underwent training in the cold forming process in Spain and now will be
transferring their knowledge to the next collaborators the company will be
hiring.
In the
thermal treatment line and other equipment that has been imported from other
plants, they have in Europe for the prototypes they will elaborate have the
standards required by the industry.
“This
cannot be possible without the effort and support of the entire Grupo
KAMAX. Our strong intention is to develop the Leon plant as a successful
location. Some of our customers have their production plant here in
Mexico, besides the close cooperation of our plant in Lapper, United States,
this will allow us to offer our Northern and Central America customers a better
quality service,” he said.
Grupo
KAMAX began operations in 1935 as screw and threaded parts factory with the
support of only three employees, and currently, they have more than 3,500
employees.
Diego
Sinhue Rodriguez Vallejo, governor of the state of Guanajuato, said that since
2006 to date 44 German companies have settled in the region, becoming thus the
third commercial partner of the entity.
The
total investment generated by those companies is of 2,328 million dollars and
have created around 25,000 jobs.
