Intretech has launched its first plant in Apodaca, Nuevo León, with an investment of more than USD 100 million and the projection of creating 1,500 to 2,000 formal jobs. The facility specializes in electronic manufacturing to strengthen value chains in the automotive, medical, energy, and consumer sectors.
Industrial ecosystem and employment in Nuevo León
Governor Samuel García highlighted that Nuevo León’s leadership in formal employment, income, and job creation has driven the arrival of global companies such as Intretech, with nearly 400,000 new jobs created so far this year and a state target of USD 100 billion in nearshoring-related flows. Mayor César Garza emphasized that Apodaca accounts for one out of every three jobs in the state, with more than 10,000 positions created this year, primarily in manufacturing.
The leadership team of Intretech Mexico, headed by Linden Lin, thanked the support of the state and municipal governments, noting that Apodaca will operate as a strategic hub for smart manufacturing and efficient services across the continent. The project’s first phase enhances the region’s export capacity and connectivity with advanced electronics suppliers.
Founded in 2011, Intretech manufactures “Smart Manufacturing” solutions including automotive rearview mirrors, headphones, IoT devices, and navigation systems. The new facility integrates high-precision processes, quality testing, and scalability for automotive and medical programs, boosting the technological content of exports from Nuevo León.
Apodaca’s ecosystem offers infrastructure, talent, and suppliers that reduce delivery times and logistics costs in North America. For local suppliers, Intretech’s arrival creates opportunities in electronic components, plastic injection, machining, assembly, and engineering services, with potential to raise wages and transfer technology.
For the region, the plant provides formal jobs and supply chain integration with SMEs that can certify in quality, traceability, and USMCA compliance. Companies with expertise in automation, molding, PCB, rework, and specialized packaging find in Intretech a new anchor to diversify portfolios and scale production.
The entry of Intretech reinforces Nuevo León’s role as the epicenter of nearshoring in Mexico and consolidates Apodaca as the state’s main industrial engine. With the plant now in operation and future expansions planned, northern Mexico strengthens its high value-added electronics capacity, which is key to sustaining exports and regional productivity.
