Guanajuato's thriving manufacturing sector is set for further expansion in 2024, driven by a multitude of competitive advantages and strategic initiatives.

President Alfonso Valdez highlighted the state's attractiveness to various industries, including medical, chemical, and cosmetic sectors, which are increasingly establishing a presence. These complement the already robust automotive, aerospace, metal-mechanical, plastics, and agro-industrial manufacturing sectors.

With over 200 IMMEX companies and approximately 220,000 jobs, Guanajuato remains a powerhouse in the manufacturing landscape.

"The establishment of each manufacturing company in Guanajuato creates around a thousand jobs. Our upcoming projects will continue this growth trajectory, and we are confident in our collaboration with authorities, organizations, and the business sector to achieve new milestones in 2024," stated President Valdez.

Guanajuato's strategic location facilitates efficient logistics processes, supporting its position as the heart of Mexico's manufacturing hub. In 2023, the El Bajío region attracted over $44.5 billion in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), underscoring its significance in the manufacturing sector.

President Valdez emphasized the importance of streamlining customs and foreign trade processes in 2024 to enhance competitiveness. Index Guanajuato, in partnership with the national Index, is spearheading efforts to optimize local customs operations to expedite exports.

"Our main challenge is ensuring the smooth operation of the customs facility at Guanajuato Puerto Interior. With the support of Humberto Martínez and the national Index, we aim to enact legislative changes to revitalize our export operations," noted President Valdez.

In conclusion, Guanajuato's manufacturing sector continues to thrive, driven by innovation, strategic initiatives, and collaborative efforts, poised for further growth and success in 2024.
