Harman has inaugurated its fourth manufacturing plant in the state of Querétaro, with an investment of $115 million. The new facility will focus on the production of in-car infotainment systems, creating 1,100 new highly specialized jobs.

Michael Mauser, President and CEO of Harman, highlighted that the Querétaro plant will produce highly complex equipment, high-end audio systems, and telematics units for major OEMs. He noted that Harman's plants have evolved to include advanced manufacturing, engineering, and research and development.

This investment, along with another recently announced in the state of Chihuahua, underscores Harman's commitment to innovation in designing and developing connected products, ranging from automotive systems to enterprise automation solutions.

Marco Antonio Del Prete Tercero, head of Querétaro's Secretariat of Sustainable Development (Sedesu), expressed great satisfaction with the new plant opening, emphasizing the company's trust in Querétaro's talent and quality of life. He noted that the state and Harman share common values focused on productivity, employee benefits, and economic growth, all while maintaining environmental stewardship.

“Harman's philosophy aligns with that of the Secretariat of Sustainable Development and the State Executive Power; they are generating economic development, investing, and creating quality of life for their employees, all with a strong focus on environmental care,” Del Prete Tercero stated.

He also praised Harman for being one of the first companies to join Querétaro's Circular Economy System, which involves industry, government, and academia in promoting resource-efficient initiatives.

Raúl Lizarriturri Martínez, President of the Querétaro Automotive Cluster, lauded Harman's growth in the region, reaffirming the company's commitment to making the state a key partner. He highlighted that Harman has developed local talent to continue creating new products, positioning Querétaro as a national reference and adding value to the companies investing there.

“I want to acknowledge Harman's leadership in promoting decarbonization and the adoption of circular economy practices in their processes, alongside their suppliers. Harman, along with other key companies in Querétaro, has answered our government's call to work together towards growth that is sustainable for our resources,” he concluded.
