In a ceremony held in San Antonio, Texas, the Harlingen Economic Development Corporation (Harlingen EDC) was honored with the Economic Excellence Award by the Texas Economic Development Council (TEDC).

The Economic Excellence Award is a prestigious recognition given to economic development organizations that demonstrate exceptional professionalism and contribute significantly to creating favorable conditions for investment attraction, job creation, and infrastructure development.

Jane Lozano, Business Retention and Expansion Manager at Harlingen EDC, accepted the award along with representatives from 71 other corporations and cities across Texas.

The award underscores the commitment of Harlingen EDC to collaborate with authorities, public organizations, and business leaders to foster a positive investment climate, particularly in South Texas.

The presentation of the Economic Excellence Award took place during the TEDC Winter Conference, attended by special guest Alex Meade, Texas Transportation Commissioner.

Carlos Schwab, President and CEO of TEDC, highlighted that the recognition of leaders like Harlingen EDC is part of a broader strategy to honor commitment and excellence in driving economic development across communities and regions.

Since its establishment in 1961, the South Texas Economic Development Council has grown to include over 1,000 members, working tirelessly to provide opportunities for progress and economic advancement throughout the state of Texas.
