The state of Guanajuato is primed to seize the opportunities
presented by nearshoring, a move
that will strengthen and foster the economic development of the region. This
was emphasized by the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo,
during his participation in the panel "State
Strategies for Encouraging Nearshoring" at the Second Binational Convention between the United
States and Mexico, "Nearshoring:
Moving Forward Together."
The event is organized by the American Society of Mexico, which
represents the interests of the United States in Mexico to over two million
American residents in the country, 120 non-governmental organizations, and
various U.S. corporations in Mexico and Mexican companies in the United States.
Governor Rodríguez Vallejo
highlighted the alliance among the states comprising the Bajío region:
Guanajuato, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, and Aguascalientes. These states play a
fundamental role in the economic and social development of the country.
Guanajuato boasts excellent
energy services, strategic location, and connectivity that facilitate the
movement of goods to the northern, central, and southern regions of the
country. Moreover, it possesses a highly competitive logistics infrastructure,
with two of Mexico's most important highways, 45 and 57, intersecting here.
Additionally, the rail lines of Kansas
City Southern de México (KCSM) and Ferromex
converge in Guanajuato.
The state is home to 189
universities and technical schools, including prestigious institutions like UNAM and IPN, producing a substantial number of engineers who are ready to
contribute to the incoming businesses.
Governor Rodríguez Vallejo stated, "In Guanajuato, we are investing in innovation, which is why we have the 'Mentefactura Valley' because we aim to be the epicenter of Industry 4.0."
Rodríguez Vallejo expressed his
gratitude to the American Society of Mexico for the invitation to participate
in this Second Binational Convention between the United States and Mexico, with
special thanks to President Larry Rubin and Convention President Santiago
Fernández Vidal.
