Grupo Uni-Trade, a national leader in international trade, and the University of Monterrey (UDEM) have signed a collaboration agreement that marks the beginning of a strategic alliance aimed at promoting applied education—where academia and industry join forces to respond to the challenges of an increasingly globalized environment.

The agreement seeks to bridge theory and practice by combining UDEM’s strong academic foundation with Uni-Trade’s operational and logistical expertise, with the goal of enhancing students’ professional development.

During the signing ceremony, Eduardo Garza Robles, Chairman of the Board at Grupo Uni-Trade, emphasized the value of this partnership:

“Collaborating with UDEM allows us to explore new approaches in logistics management while giving students the opportunity to experience first-hand the challenges and opportunities of today’s business world. We are confident that this synergy will not only enrich the academic training of future professionals but also strengthen our own capabilities as an organization.”

Dr. Carlos García, UDEM’s Vice President of Academic Affairs, highlighted the importance of academia-industry collaboration:

“This mutual commitment represents a strategic alliance to drive knowledge, innovation, and the professional development of future generations. Creating synergies with leading companies like Grupo Uni-Trade enhances real opportunities for learning, research, and professional growth for our students.”

Innovation, Education, and a Shared Vision

The ceremonial signing was attended by members of Uni-Trade’s executive team, including Andrés Franco Abascal, Hugo Adriano, Adrián Fernández Garza, David Rosales, and Maricarmen Hinojosa.

Representing UDEM were Dr. Carlos Basurto, Vice President of Outreach, Effectiveness and Academic Services, along with Juan José Martínez, Sonia Carolina González, Karla Nava, and Magdely Carrillo—members of the university’s academic staff.

As part of the event, David Rosales, advisor to Grupo Uni-Trade, delivered a specialized talk on global economic trends affecting the customs and logistics system in Mexico. The session provided a valuable platform for dialogue and exchange between attendees and industry experts.

Through this collaboration, UDEM and Grupo Uni-Trade aim to create social, economic, and professional value, investing in a new generation of professionals with a comprehensive vision and high-level expertise in logistics and international trade.
