Grupo Marabis Invests USD 46 Million in Industrial Expansion in Guanajuato

Grupo Marabis has launched the sixth phase of expansion at the Castro del Río Industrial Park in Irapuato, Guanajuato, with the inauguration of a new industrial facility and the upcoming construction of three additional buildings. This new phase involves a total investment of USD 46 million and is expected to generate 2,500 formal jobs.
The new facility spans 11,539 square meters, while the three planned buildings will cover a combined area of 66,674 square meters, bringing the total new industrial space to 78,214 square meters. These properties have the capacity to accommodate up to 29 new companies, enhancing the region’s attractiveness for industrial investment with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
Guanajuato Strengthens Nearshoring Competitiveness
Claudia Cristina Villaseñor Aguilar, Guanajuato’s Secretary of Economy, emphasized that this expansion supports the state’s public strategy to generate quality employment. “The growth of the Castro del Río Industrial Park reinforces conditions for national and international companies, consolidating Guanajuato as a competitive and sustainable industrial hub,” she stated.
The Marabis Castro del Río Industrial Park currently features 603 hectares of developed land and 120 hectares in reserve, hosting more than 100 companies. It is part of Grupo Marabis’ industrial ecosystem in Guanajuato, which also includes Marabis Abasolo and Marabis San Miguel in Comonfort. Together, these three parks total 770 hectares and are home to 115 companies that collectively generate over 30,000 jobs.
With 47 industrial parks across 17 municipalities, Guanajuato continues to stand out as one of Mexico’s top investment destinations. The state offers over 7,100 hectares of industrial land, of which 3,650 hectares are available for new projects—positioning Guanajuato as a prime location for both nearshoring and innershoring strategies.
