Grupo Eran will invest 500 million pesos in a new manufacturing facility in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, creating more than 1,000 jobs in the state’s Carbonífera region. The U.S.-based company, specialized in lighting solutions, smart ceiling fans, and air purifiers, marks a turning point for a region seeking to diversify its economy beyond coal and strengthen its presence within Mexico’s growing manufacturing sector.

Grupo Eran Strengthens Manufacturing in Coahuila

The company focuses on the production and assembly of high-efficiency lighting and climate control products, including smart fans and air purification systems. The new plant in Nueva Rosita will serve as a strategic manufacturing hub that integrates the region into global value chains, incorporating advanced processes and energy-efficient technologies for homes and workplaces.

The decision to locate operations in Coahuila was driven by the state’s qualified workforce, labor stability, and strong security environment, which collectively reduce investment risks. According to Dan Levitin, CEO of Grupo Eran, the project reflects the company’s confidence in the region’s potential and in its local talent—“a key element in driving this new stage of industrial expansion,” he said.

A New Industrial Era for the Carbonífera Region

For Nueva Rosita and the broader Carbonífera area, Grupo Eran’s arrival represents the first major investment announcement in over 25 years. The creation of more than 1,000 jobs will bring new opportunities for workers, suppliers, and service providers, stimulating economic activity, boosting local commerce, and strengthening the fiscal base of San Juan de Sabinas municipality.

The announcement coincides with the development of a new industrial park in the region, scheduled to begin construction next year. This infrastructure will accommodate future investments, attract companies in light manufacturing and electrical components, and create a more competitive ecosystem for industrial expansion.

While the Carbonífera region remains closely linked to coal production, the arrival of Grupo Eran introduces a path toward economic diversification. The coexistence of traditional industries and new manufacturing projects focused on smart home technologies, climate control, and comfort solutions signals a more dynamic and resilient industrial landscape.

Luis Olivares Martínez, Secretary of Economy for Coahuila, described the project as a symbol of renewal and growth for a region known for its resilience and work ethic.

“The message to investors is clear: the Carbonífera region offers talent, infrastructure, and favorable conditions for long-term industrial projects,” he stated. “Coahuila continues to stand out as a safe and competitive destination for companies seeking stability and opportunity in Mexico.”
