German investment to reach Colinas de Leon Park

The German company Kamax
will invest 45 million dollars in Guanajuato, this after placing the foundation
Stone of its plant in the Colinas de Leon Industrial Park.
Regarding this, Juan Carlos Mena, director of Kamax Mexico, said that it is a company dedicated to the manufacture of high-resistance screws for the automotive industry, therefore, he said that the strategic location of Guanajuato will help them distributing their product easily.
“The company will have its production of fasteners and bolts for critical applications of automotive safety in the municipality of Leon and it is the first one this company settles in Latin America,” he explained.
He said that, for a year
and a half the company directives started their planning to be installed in
Mexico, concretely in the state of Guanajuato.
It is a family company with
more of 80 years of existence, which has a production plant in Spain, China,
India, Slovakia and the United States.
He said that in January
2019 they will start operations in Leon generating a total of 215 direct jobs.
He added that it is a firm specialized in the production of fasteners and bolts of automotive safety, being world leader and fulfilling all the quality standards.
In his intervention, Guillermo Romero Pacheco, head of the Ministry of Sustainable Economic Development (SDES, by its Spanish initials) talked about the importance of foreign companies investing in the entity to encourage the local economic development, as he considered that this translates in certainty and hence, the generation of more and better jobs.
This company has properties in Mexico of 20 to 25 million dollars, and get its investment authorized in Latin America took three to four years, according with information of the entity’s administration.
The company has 3,300
workers worldwide and has operations in Germany, Slovakia, Spain, Czech
Republic, United States, China and now Mexico, in the municipality of Leon.
From its sales, 72 % is for
the light vehicles sector and 28 % for heavy trucks, among its customers are
BMW, Volkswagen, and General Motors.
