German company to strengthen its investment in Queretaro

Nord Drive Systems S.A. de C.V. is a company developer of industrial transmission born in Germany in 1965 and that started operations in Mexico in 2003 through an independent representative.

“We are manufacturers of industrial power transmissions, of speed reducers, as they are known in the industrial world and they serve to provide power.  Pumps are an application of ours such as the cranes.  Transporters, mills, everything that moves require a speed reducer,” said Mauricio Callejas, director of Nord Drive Systems Mexico.

For 2006, Nord opened a sales office and afterwards a warehouse was open in 2010 and in 2015 the decision was made of moving to Queretaro and assembly the first assembly line at the Pyme Industrial Park and for 2016 it opened the second production line.

“The investment has been of approximately of one million and a half dollars in inventory, machinery, facilities, but we have invoiced since then about 6 million per year in Mexico, and worldwide Nord Systems 650 million euros,” said the director of Nord Drive Systems Mexico.

Regarding the human resources, Nord has 3,200 collaborators worldwide including 11 people here in Queretaro.  Additionally, it also has four regional offices: in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey and of course here in Queretaro and with presence in more than 46 countries directly.

If something distinguishes Nord is being the second largest reducers company worldwide, which has as main customers Bombardier, which manufactures wages for Guadalajara train in Queretaro they collaborate with Profinox which are located in San Juan del Rio and that are dedicated to the manufacture of stirring equipment for the food industry, to mention a few.

Regarding future plans, this industrial transmissions manufacturer outlines to implement a new assembly line for what it would be their fourth product, which will be added to the 30 % that represents the Queretaro production that supplies the market in Mexico.
