GEODIS, one of the world’s leading logistics providers, has officially inaugurated a new office in Guadalajara, Jalisco, as part of its strategy to expand operations and strengthen its presence in México. This facility includes the Americas Center of Excellence (CoE), a strategic hub that will oversee key logistics operations across the region.

The new office complements GEODIS’s established network of operations in México City, Querétaro, the State of Mexico, and El Salto, Jalisco. From this strategic location, the company will coordinate freight forwarding services, including ocean, air, and ground transport, as well as customs and foreign trade operations, project logistics, and supply chain management.

“The opening of our new office in Guadalajara marks a major milestone for our operations in the country, where we have maintained a presence for nearly 20 years,” said Miguel Muñoz, Managing Director of GEODIS in México. “Not only are we able to expand our growing freight forwarding business in the region with this new location, but we are also adding new logistics solutions to our portfolio to better support our customers. This new facility is a direct reflection of our continued commitment to growth in the region.”

Guadalajara: a strategic logistics hub for the Americas

GEODIS’s choice of Guadalajara as a logistics epicenter reflects the city’s growing strategic importance in the region. The company operates direct flights twice a week from China and Hong Kong, and maintains key connections with the Port of Manzanillo as well as major trade corridors to the United States and Canada, enhancing its ability to capitalize on nearshoring opportunities.

The 2,789 square meter office was designed with sustainability and ergonomics in mind, prioritizing employee comfort and energy efficiency. The facility features advanced control and security systems, as well as sustainable practices such as treated water usage and high efficiency cooling systems.

Center of excellence strengthens Mexico’s logistics role

The CoE also includes GEODIS’s largest Shared Services Center in the Americas, handling functions such as supply chain engineering, logistics operations, and a real time monitoring control tower. This model not only enhances the company’s competitiveness, but also positions México as a key logistics hub in the region.

With this new opening, GEODIS now operates 14 facilities across México, totaling more than 148,000 square meters and employing 2,717 people, 442 of whom are based in Guadalajara. This expansion boosts Mexico’s capacity to attract logistics investments and sets a benchmark for sustainable and efficient industrial development in the region.
