Foxconn, the Taiwanese global leader in contract electronics manufacturing, has announced a major investment to build the world’s largest plant in Mexico dedicated to assembling Nvidia’s GB200 superchips, marking a milestone in the tech industry.

According to Benjamin Ting, Senior Vice President of Foxconn, the plant, which will be located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, will be the largest of its kind worldwide for GB200 production. It will incorporate advanced liquid cooling and heat dissipation technologies, which are essential for the infrastructure of GB200 servers.

These chips, used in scientific and simulation applications, are critical for the development of increasingly sophisticated artificial intelligence (AI) applications. This announcement positions Mexico as a key player in the global AI industry.

Foxconn’s Presence in Mexico

To date, Foxconn has invested over $500 million in Mexico. In August, the company announced an additional $241.2 million investment to bolster AI server production in the country.

With this new investment, Foxconn and Nvidia aim not only to meet the growing demand for AI components but also to foster technological development in Mexico, demonstrating the country’s potential to become a leader in high-tech manufacturing on the global stage.
