The Foreign Direct
Investment (FDI) in Coahuila recorded 2,450.5 million of dollars during the
first three trimesters of 2018, which represents a growth of 103.7 % compared
with the same period of 2017, when 1,202.6 million dollars were reached,
announced the Ministry of Economy.
The office detailed
that during the first trimester of 2018, 595.9 million dollars were reached; in
the second, 969.4 million and on the third one, 885.2 million.
Likewise, they reported
that during the first nine months of the year, from the total FDI in Coahuila,
1,090.3 million belong to accounts between companies; 815.8 million to new
investments and 544.4 million to profits reinvestment.
Meanwhile, in the
accumulate of 1999 to the third trimester of 2018, the FDI in Coahuila added up
20,477.1 million dollars. From this
total, 8,652.3 million dollars belong to new investments; 7,287.7 million to
accounts between companies and 4,537.1 million to profits reinvestment.
Manufacturing Industry stands out
During the first nine
months 2018, the main countries that added the figure of FDI of Coahuila are
Italy, with 835.7 million; Canada, with 514.5 million; Germany, with 257.3
million; Spain with 35.4 million; Japan, with 21.8 million and Portugal, with
21.4 million, among others.
Based on data from the
SE, during that same period, the investment of the manufacturing industry in
Coahuila reached 1,117.8 million dollars.
The subsector of transportation equipment manufacturing registered 765.6
million dollars. The activity of
generation, transmission and distribution of electric energy, water supply and
of gas by ducts to the final consumer added 772.1 million dollars; financing
services and of insurances, 416.5 million; the industry of beverages and
tobacco, 216 million; and commerce, 111.4 million, among others.
National Level
The SE noted that at
national level, foreign direct investment for the first three trimesters 2018
added 24,174.4 million dollars.
From those, 8,873.9
million dollars were by profits reinvestments; 8,924.3 million of new
investments and 5,276.1 of accounts between companies.
During this period, the
main countries that invested in Mexico were the United States, with 8,810.9
million dollars; Canada, with 3,333.3 million; Spain, with 2,854.6 million;
Germany, with 2,284.3 million; Japan, with 1,562.9 million; Italy, with 1,422.9
million; Australia, with 637.4 million; and Argentina, with 560.8 million.
Manufacturing
industries were the ones that provided the most to the FDI, with 11,093 million
dollars.
