After concluding the 6-month period of pilot testing of the City Challenge: One , MX3, Trici-Taxi Eléctrico Suburbano , the final version was presented that will be produced by the winner at the end of the year.
After analyzing the 12 finalist proposals, MX3 Trici-Taxi Eléctrico Suburbano was chosen last year as the winner of the first City: One Challenge organized by Ford of Mexico .
This development is an electrically assisted tricycle with three trailer versions for passengers, wheelchair passengers and cargo, and was carried out jointly between Mastretta Bikes and FOTCA (Front of Collective and Alternative Transport Organizations AC) , and was selected as the winner of this event by the Government of Mexico City, as it stood out for its potential to become a mobility platform with applications for various functionalities beyond those presented.
During the 6 months , the design of the tricycle and trailers was finalized; Later, several prototypes were built which were put to the test in the field under real service conditions.
To present the results of the pilot tests, Ford Mobility , developed 4 videos in which the different functionalities of the three new MX3 models are shown , as well as the way in which it will improve the mobility of the public to whom each of them is directed .
Alejandro Rosas, mobility leader of Ford of Mexico , pointed out that the idea of the videos arose to take up the mobility problems, which they had in the Exploration stage of the Challenge and show how the MX3 Trici-Electric Taxi is a viable solution to improve significantly these challenges.
“Each of the three MX3 prototypes is designed for the different needs of transferring people or cargo, as well as people who need to use a wheelchair. We want these stories to inspire to generate conversation among the different sectors of society to create synergies that offer better urban mobility solutions, particularly for groups in vulnerable situations ”, he added.
The City: One Challenge was sponsored by: AT&T, Dell Technologies, Microsoft, Mobility ADO, Deloitte Consulting México and Uber , in collaboration with Mexico City through SEMOVI .
