Flowserve inaugurated a new engineering and advanced manufacturing center in Torreón, Coahuila, with an investment of MXN 800 million that is expected to generate hundreds of jobs in the region. The project reinforces Coahuila’s position as a strategic industrial hub in northern Mexico.

Industrial investment strengthens La Laguna

The new complex specializes in the production of fluid management and control equipment, including industrial pumps, valves, mechanical seals, and automation systems—key components for industries such as energy, manufacturing, and industrial processing. The facility expands the company’s production capacity in Mexico and strengthens its footprint in the domestic market.

Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas said the investment represents a direct boost to regional economic development while supporting job creation and the attraction of new capital. He emphasized that La Laguna continues to consolidate its role as an engine of industrial growth, supported by favorable conditions for incoming investment.

Company executives stated that the project was made possible by collaboration with local authorities and by the state’s competitive business environment. Sandra García Ardil, Vice President of Industrial Pumps, said institutional support played a decisive role in bringing the investment to the region and advancing the company’s expansion strategy in Mexico.

The opening of this center also responds to Flowserve’s strategy of bringing advanced engineering and manufacturing capabilities closer to key markets, allowing the company to improve production times, strengthen supply chains, and respond more efficiently to industrial demand in the region.

State and municipal authorities agreed that new investments like this support Coahuila’s industrial diversification. The state maintains strong positions in sectors such as automotive, auto parts, rail, and agribusiness, creating a competitive ecosystem for global companies.

Luis Olivares Martínez, Coahuila’s Secretary of Economy, said the steady arrival of new companies reflects concrete results from the state’s investment attraction strategy. He added that projects like Flowserve’s expand industrial capabilities and open new stages of growth for the region.

The establishment of this center in Torreón also reflects broader nearshoring and operational relocation trends toward Mexico, where states such as Coahuila offer legal certainty, labor stability, and specialized talent. Investments of this type point to stronger industrial integration across northern Mexico.
