FedEx Express opens a new operating station in Querétaro

FedEx Express inaugurated its new operating station, a project that will consolidate the logistics offer of Querétaro and that will pay 173 jobs.
The vice president of operations for FedEx Express in Mexico , Jorge Torres , explained that the company has invested more than 3 million dollars in the entity, and with its logistics capacity it will be able to boost the growth of almost 70,000 companies installed in this state.
The new facilities, which will reach a total area of 6,633 square meters, represent an increase in operating capacity of 265% to serve 110 routes from Querétaro.
Likewise, they will allow optimizing processes and forwarding the cargo in Guanajuato, San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Jalisco, Zacatecas and the State of Mexico .
Jorge Torres also signed a collaboration agreement with the Secretariat for Sustainable Development (Sedesu) , to provide discounts of up to 40% in logistics services, workshops, mentoring and support during the growth process of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs) and entrepreneurs .
"This makes us corroborate, confirm and reaffirm the impulse that we want to give to the export sector, to the SMEs of Querétaro , accompanying them in their growth process and positioning them very firmly in the world market," he said.
LOGISTICS SECTOR
The governor of Querétaro, Francisco Domínguez Servién , during the opening ceremony, recalled that in March 2017 the FedEx import flight from Memphis, Tennesse, to Querétaro was inaugurated , which meant an important step to position the state as a logistics center air connectivity.
"The synergies generated between the productive sectors and my government, today place us as one of the states with the highest percentage recovery of employment in Mexico," he stressed.
He also highlighted the consolidation of the logistics offer, which is strengthened with the mobilization of goods, products and services, and which now has 15 FedEx shipping centers in Querétaro .
The Queretaro International Airport , added, ranks third in domestic freight transport and international cargo fifth.
Likewise, the president reported that, from January to November of this year, the airport registered an accumulated 39,663 tons transported , 16.1% less than the immediately previous period.
He explained that in May, the figure was minus 24.7%, so the gap has been reduced by 8.6 percent.
The head of the Sedesu, Marco Antonio del Prete Tercero , added that in 2019 more than 12,000 million dollars were exported, an amount that represents a growth of almost 12% compared to 2018.
" FedEx comes to contribute to the promotion of foreign trade in the state, an item that gives satisfaction to Queretans," he said.
