Exports of light vehicles grow 2.86% in Mexico

In April of this year, exports of light vehicles manufactured in Mexico grew by 2.86%, which represents a shipment of 241,286 units abroad.

According to the monthly report of the Administrative Registry of the Light Vehicle Automotive Industry of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (Inegi), in the same month of 2021, 234,584 cars were sent.

Regarding exports from January to April 2022, a total of 922,278 units was reached .

The automotive brands obtained positive results in their exports were: Audi  with a total of 18,914; Ford Motor with 38,578; Honda shipped 12,557; Kia  exported 16,100; Toyota with 18,359 and Volkswagen had 27,938 exported cars.

VEHICLE PRODUCTION

Regarding the total production of light vehicles, in April of this year there was a negative variation of 6.58%, having assembled 251,547 units ; while in the same period of 2021 it reached 269,265.

Despite the decrease in automobile assembly, the companies that had an increase in their manufacture are the following: Audi  with 14,871 Ford Motor generated 24,670 units; Kia  assembled 20,800; Stellantis had a total of 42,433 and Toyota with 19,589.
