Electrical Components International celebrated the placement of the first Stone of their new plant

Aiming to contribute to the generation of more than 3,200 jobs, Electrical Components International leading company in the home appliances sector, held their first stone placement ceremony, beginning thus the construction of what will be their sixth plant in our country.
With an investment of 168.3 million pesos the American company bet on the municipality of Tequisquiapan, highlighting their interest on a strategic location that provides closeness to their customers.
During his intervention Electrical Components International CEO, Dave Webster said that the objective of the company in Tequisquiapan is to promote a joint growth, where they will be seeking to increase their production supported on the Queretaro human resource.
“We are a company that has
kept on business for more than 65 years, and despite our bases are American, we
are a Mexican company, we have been operating in Mexico for 50 years, more than
most American companies,” he detailed.
“We will continue investing in Mexico, to support our national and global customers; we came to Tequisquiapan because we share the vision of their governing leaders and we know we can make this municipality one of the best in the region,” emphasized Dave Webster.
Likewise, Francisco Dominguez Servien, governor of the state of Queretaro, said that the arrival of this new American investment confirms the United States as the main commercial partner of Queretaro; likewise, he underlined that the sector to which Electrical Components International is dedicated has historically provided new technologies to the productive chains in the entity.
“We are the fifth State nationwide, with the highest number of economic unites related with the manufacturing of accessories and electric devices, this sector contributes with 12 % of production to the state GDP and more than 9,700 quality jobs for Queretaro families,” he added.
The state official explained that currently, the State has the highest economic potential of the entire Latin America, this according to Financial Times which positions it within the category of 1.5 to 4 million of inhabitants. Also, he said that KPMG consultant qualifies Queretaro as the most attractive entity in all Mexico to invest towards the 3 upcoming years.
It is worth mentioning that the sector of which the home appliances electric devices manufacturing is part, generated 21 thousand 589 million pesos in 2018, the state of Queretaro has the fifth place nationwide with the highest number of economic units related with the manufacturing of accessories and electric devices.
Meanwhile, Antonio Mejia Lira, mayor of Tequisquiapan, guaranteed certainty to the American company executives and thanked the accompaniment of the current administration in the region’s strengthening.
Such event had the presence of directives and workers of Electrical Components International, as well as state and municipal authorities.
Electrical Components International is a world company with annual sales above one billion dollars; they have operations in North America, South America, Asia, Europe and Africa, with a total of 21 thousand employees worldwide of which 14,000 are in Mexico.
It is anticipated that the plant will begin operations by the end of this year.
