In Edinburg, Texas, the workforce stands out as one of the main competitive advantages for attracting investments to the city, with significant implications for the Rio Grande Valley, ranking as the second city with the lowest unemployment rate (4.4%) in the region.

Raudel Garza, CEO of the Economic Development Corporation in Edinburg (Edinburg EDC), emphasized that the city boasts 51,492 jobs, with the manufacturing industry and the logistics sector representing crucial sectors.

"The opportunities available in the city of Edinburg for investors are plentiful, but the workforce is definitely essential. The majority are young individuals eager to specialize and gain experience," stated Garza.

Carlos Garza, project manager at Edinburg EDC, stressed the presence of universities and academic institutions that facilitate professional development and training needed by companies, particularly in manufacturing and technologies. "Professionals are constantly acquiring new knowledge based on industry trends. Here in Edinburg, we have universities that are attuned to the needs of the productive sector," he added.

Commercial aspects, along with the presence of businesses related to goods and services, are also fundamental aspects highlighted in job creation.

Industrial Parks

Raudel and Carlos were honored guests at the April familiarization event in Pharr, organized by the South Texas Economic Progress Council (Costep), attended by strategic location consultants seeking new sites for their companies.

During their presentations, they also discussed the importance of industrial parks in Edinburg and the availability of land.

They pointed out that Mid Valley Industrial Park hosts 85 companies engaged in manufacturing, distribution, and cold storage, while Mid Valley International Industrial Park spans 122 acres, and North Industrial Park, deemed as the perfect opportunity for industrial and commercial development, offers 18 lots.

These industrial parks stand out for their strategic locations, close to overweight corridors, airports, international bridges, and highways.
