The South Korean company Doosung Tech has broken ground on its new plant in Monclova, with an investment of 500 million pesos, adding to Coahuila’s automotive cluster. The project is part of the broader industrial expansion taking place in the state’s Central Region, driven by the arrival of foreign capital linked to the automotive sector.
This new investment reinforces Coahuila’s industrial competitiveness, as the state remains one of the most attractive destinations for manufacturing in Mexico due to its infrastructure, proximity to the U.S. market, and availability of skilled labor. The installation of Doosung Tech confirms the interest of Asian companies in participating in the national automotive supply chain.
State authorities emphasized that the arrival of Doosung Tech will help diversify Monclova’s productive base and generate new employment opportunities for technicians and engineers in the region. It will also strengthen the connections between local and foreign companies within the automotive ecosystem of northern Mexico.
The Doosung Tech plant will join the group of companies that make up Coahuila’s automotive cluster—one of the most dynamic in the country—including manufacturers of auto parts, electrical systems, and metal components. Projects of this nature solidify the state’s position as an industrial and export leader.
With this investment, Monclova reaffirms its role as a strategic center for manufacturing and the attraction of new investment. The partnership with Doosung Tech represents another step toward consolidating a competitive and globally integrated automotive industry that generates value and employment for Coahuila’s Central Region.
