David Moreno, Mayor of Donna, Texas, highlighted the investment opportunities available for logistics companies with the recent opening of a crossing for empty trucks at the Donna-Rio Bravo International Bridge in the north-to-south direction.

Located between Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, and Donna, Texas, the Donna-Rio Bravo International Bridge provides access to industrial parks, making it an ideal location for logistics operations. The placement of cold storage rooms and warehouses represents some of the potential areas for investment. "Our international bridge now allows for the crossing of empty trucks from north to south, facilitating trade between Tamaulipas and Texas. In Donna, we have vast amounts of land available for establishments, close to the main logistics corridors in South Texas," said Mayor Moreno.

Empty truck crossings are permitted Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Mayor Moreno emphasized the city's growth in commerce and its desire to attract industries. "We can assist them in finding the most convenient location. Another competitive advantage is our cost-effective housing accessibility," he added.

Mayor Moreno also highlighted Donna's Economic Development Corporation (Donna EDC) as a central aspect, offering incentives and guidance to companies seeking to establish a presence in the area. Additionally, he discussed the collaboration with Mexican authorities to drive new business projects, including obtaining permits for the international bridge to allow for truck crossings with cargo in both directions across the border. "We will continue working on this project with Mexican authorities. Our goal is to make the crossing of goods from north to south and from south to north a reality. The message to entrepreneurs is that this is the best time to invest in Donna," Mayor Moreno concluded.
