The AIFA region has emerged as a new economic engine in Mexico, concentrating more than 53,000 business units and employing 605,617 people. This was highlighted by Laura González, Secretary of Economic Development, during the inauguration of two new warehouses at DHL’s Mega Campus, located in the T-MEX Park industrial park in the municipality of Nextlalpan.

State of Mexico Leads Mexico’s Logistics Sector

González emphasized that the State of Mexico leads the national logistics sector, hosting 389 Distribution Centers (CEDIS), equivalent to 13% of the country’s total. The state has attracted investments exceeding MXN 36 billion and USD 734 million, generating more than 665,000 jobs.

Mario Rodríguez de la Gala, President of DHL Supply Chain Mexico, stated that the new campus is designed to meet client demands with the highest quality and sustainability standards. The Mega Campus, located within T-MEX Park, required an investment of MXN 200 million for its two warehouses and is expected to create around 200 jobs.

German Investment Strengthens Confidence in Mexico

Clemens von Goetze, Germany’s Ambassador to Mexico, underscored the logistics sector’s crucial role in the global economy, noting that continued investment from German companies reflects confidence in Mexico’s economic environment.

The AIFA region is now a key component of the Central-AIFA Corridor, which connects Mexico City, Hidalgo, and the State of Mexico. The area serves over 30 million consumers and generates 26.7% of Mexico’s GDP, thanks to its connectivity through the Circuito Exterior Mexiquense, the Arco Norte, and its proximity to Felipe Ángeles International Airport.
