DHL Express expands its presence in AIQ by investing 84 million pesos

DHL Express Mexico announced an investment of 84 million pesos to expand their operations at the aerial logistics center located in Queretaro Intercontinental Airport (AIQ, by its Spanish initials.) 

At a meeting with executives of the German company, the governor of Queretaro, Francisco Dominguez Servien, recognized the wide career of the company dedicated to shipments’ logistics, for choosing Queretaro as a venue for their growth nationwide.

Within this framework, CEO of DHL Express para las Americas, Mike Parra, explained that the resources provided by the company will be addressed to double the capability for piece processing by hour through renewed facilities with forefront technology, as well as to increase their aerial and terrestrial distribution routes.

Such capital will be executed in 2019 and 2020, the term in which is anticipated to grow the workforce with more than 500 new jobs to join the 7,132 already consolidated in the entity.

This new investment joins the 41 million pesos executed in the State during 2018 by DHL, endorsing thus their confidence and participation with the Queretaro entity.

Currently DHL, transnational company in the logistics industry, it was about 380,000 employees in more than 220 countries and offers a logistics portfolio which includes national shipments, international, electronic commerce management and for industrial supply chains.

OPERATIONS

According to information published on the Queretaro Intercontinental Airport website, the terrestrial fleet of DHL Express includes 16 terrestrial routes, 8 of entrance and 8 of exit.  “Additionally, the terrestrial network of the company operated from these facilities consist of 134 inter-city vehicles at country level what enables the combined connectivity by air and land of the 54 main cities of the Mexican territory daily transporting more than 100,000 shipments.”
