Grupo Deacero inaugurated its MacroHub located in the municipality of Villagrán, Guanajuato, with an investment of 16 million dollars and the generation of 500 direct and indirect jobs.
In this space, it will be possible to serve more than 730 customers and steel distributors, as well as the capacity to transport wires and other products derived from steel, which will promote the development of the region, since it will serve the central and Pacific zones, in addition to reinforcing exports to 11 destinations in the US and Latin America.
Raúl Gutiérrez Durán, director of Logistics and Supply and Deacero Logistics (3PL), announced that investing in this region represents a competitive and logistical advantage for the company, due to the proximity to customers.
“This hub is tangible evidence of our strategy, agility, alignment and adaptability. This facility is for and by our customers and for us,” he commented.
David Gutiérrez Muguerza, CEO of Grupo Deacero and president of the National Chamber of the Iron and Steel Industry (Canacero), reported that this project will strengthen the value chains and competitiveness of the region, since with this they can compete with other areas that are characterized by a strong demand for steel, in addition to applying innovation strategies with the so-called Hub and Spoke strategy and caring for the environment through rationalization in distribution to reduce the carbon footprint.
He said that with this MacroHub, the company will strengthen its logistics and overcome the 2019 crisis where there was a drop in the production, import and export of steel.
With this space it will be possible to consolidate inventories, transport and specialization in the service in this area.
