Daimay Automotive Interior has inaugurated its first manufacturing facility in Parras de la Fuente, marking a significant step in the municipality’s emergence as a new manufacturing destination in northern Mexico. The project represents an investment exceeding MXN 800 million and is part of a broader plan to expand operations across the region.

The plant integrates Parras into Mexico’s automotive value chain and strengthens the industrial corridor of Coahuila toward new geographic areas beyond its traditional manufacturing hubs. State authorities confirmed that this facility is the first of three plants the company plans to establish locally, with an estimated capacity to generate up to 2,500 jobs once fully operational.

Expanding Automotive Manufacturing into New Regions

The arrival of Daimay supports the economic diversification of Parras de la Fuente, a municipality that has experienced sustained growth and increasing industrial activity in recent years. By locating production facilities outside established clusters, the project contributes to a more geographically balanced manufacturing footprint across the state.

The new operation also reinforces Coahuila’s role as one of Mexico’s most competitive automotive production centers, benefiting from proximity to U.S. markets, established supply chains, and a stable business environment attractive to foreign investors.

Strengthening Coahuila’s Automotive Ecosystem

Daimay’s investment adds to the broader industrial ecosystem of southeastern Coahuila, complementing existing automotive operations and suppliers throughout the region. The project enhances employment opportunities while supporting the development of specialized manufacturing capabilities aligned with evolving vehicle technologies, including electric mobility components.

As nearshoring trends continue to reshape North American supply chains, the expansion of global suppliers into secondary industrial locations highlights Mexico’s capacity to accommodate new manufacturing platforms beyond traditional metropolitan areas.
