More Indian Companies to Arrive in the Rio Grande Valley Region in the Coming Months, Announces South Texas Economic Progress Council (COSTEP)

Following the successful visit of representatives from Startup Runway and the International Startup Foundation, which represented over 300 companies from India, Adam Gonzalez, CEO of COSTEP, elaborated: "We are about to sign an agreement that will allow us to consistently bring Indian companies to our region. We aim to promote the entire region, focusing on those already considering establishing themselves in the United States, particularly in Texas. We are interested in having them settle here and take advantage of all the competitive benefits."

Gonzalez detailed that the region is a binational territory spanning the Texas and Tamaulipas border. It includes seven counties in Texas: Jim Hogg, Starr, Webb, Willacy, Zapata, Hidalgo, and Cameron. On the Mexican side, it comprises ten cities in Tamaulipas: Nuevo Laredo, Guerrero, Mier, Miguel Alemán, Camargo, Diaz Ordaz, Reynosa, Rio Bravo, Valle Hermoso, and Matamoros.

He added that the relationship established with India began during the "India Namaste" trade mission in January 2024, in which COSTEP participated alongside other economic development organizations in Texas and the state's governor, Greg Abbott. "During this trip, I had the opportunity to meet Mahesh Nandyala, founder and CEO of Startup Runway, based in Dallas. They are an incubator for Indian companies looking to move to Texas. I told him about our region, and thanks to his interest, we were able to organize this first visit.
