Continental has commenced construction on its new plant in Aguascalientes, named ContiTech, with an investment of $90 million. The project is expected to create 200 jobs in its initial phase, with the potential to increase to 500 positions upon completion.

“With this new plant, we are reinforcing our commitment to our customers in the region. The state's excellent geographic location, its economic and security conditions, and the positive experience we've already had with our other facility here will enhance our opportunities to grow alongside our clients,” said Eduardo Barros, project leader.

The facility, which spans 85,000 square meters—approximately the size of 12 football fields—is located in the VESTA industrial park. Its production will focus on advanced hydraulic hoses, aiming to supply the regional market.

This plant is designed to achieve higher energy and manufacturing efficiency by integrating modern processes and new standards, such as Industry 4.0, photovoltaic systems, and water reuse methods.

Operations at the new facility, equipped with the latest technology for producing and delivering high-quality products, are slated to begin in 2025, according to company executives.

Marco Galluzzi, Vice President of Human Relations for Mexico and Focus Country, stated, “Based on our prior experience, we know Aguascalientes has the right talent to meet the needs of a high-tech plant like this one. We’ve already started hiring for senior and specialized roles as of August and expect mass recruitment to begin by mid-February 2025. We will soon announce how people can apply, and we are confident we will fill the positions with skilled and passionate individuals.”

In a related note, Esaú Garza de Vega, head of the State's Secretariat of Economic Development, Science, and Technology (SEDECyT), remarked on LinkedIn, “Germany is the third-largest historical investor in our state. This project is a clear indication that our competitive advantages, strategic location, skilled workforce, and favorable business environment make us an ideal destination for investment.”
