This will be a great highway that will contribute to connectivity, promoting this economic corridor, where cargo is handled in foreign trade containers, ”he said.
He also noted that this work will continue to work to strengthen the construction of a large bridge between Guanajuato and Tamaulipas, since the project is to construct, operate, preserve and maintain the road of 106 kilometers in length , called Autopista Tam-Bajio , which will have an investment of 6,000 million pesos.
The construction of 70 kilometers of new highway and the modernization of another 30 kilometers is contemplated , for a total of 101 kilometers between El Mante and Tula; Complementary works and a two-kilometer-long tunnel are also included.

"It will come to consolidate the logistics of the Bajío and the West, since it will connect these states with southern Tamaulipas in a more competitive way, promoting this economic corridor, where there is a great handling of cargo in foreign trade containers," he said. .
For the state of Guanajuato, this highway is important since of the 20,000 million dollars it exported in merchandise in 2020 , the year of the pandemic, 55% (10,918 million dollars) left Tamaulipas customs. Half of them through Nuevo Laredo and its International Airport, and to a lesser extent through the Port of Altamira, Reynosa and other customs such as Matamoros, Camargo, etc.
