Company specialized in metal sintering arrives in Guanajuato

The metallic pieces manufacturing process has diversified in the country, and Guanajuato will be the state with a company specialized in sintering powder metal, offering different significant advantages on other pieces manufacturing processes.

Alejandro Nieto Paz, plant manager at GNK Sintered Metals, first plant based on sintering metal powder, will be working with materials such as cooper, aluminum and stainless steel used in all industrial equipment, specifically the automotive.

GNK Sintered Metals will be the first supplier of this kind worldwide.  It is about pieces of great complexity and advanced technology.  This kind of pieces have a wide range of applications in the automobile and within the industry in general.

“There are present in car steering wheels, oil pumps, fuel, shock absorbers and others, this process represents more dimensional precision, higher resistance and less weight at lower cost, it is a very environmental friendly process.”

GNK Sitered Metals is the world leader supplier of powder metal precision components.  At the Salem plant, Indiana, GNK manufactures a series of parts of the clutch plate of the transmission for trucks produced by 3 large automobile factories.

Regarding the production process he explained that as it is powder metal the main raw material, are compacted and a solid or porous mass is generated, later it goes through a warming process to increase its resistance through the union of its particles.

The estimated production of the company per year is of 16 million units and will be addressed to local market, being its main customers Bosch, Hella, KSPG, Pierburg and Hitachi.  The company will reach 130 employees on a first phase and the idea is to triplicate until having 390 employees.  The investment of the first phase is of 30 million dollars and 8 thousand meters of a total surface of 2.7 hectares will be build.

The company will began receiving machinery and equipment as of April and will begin working on September 2019.

FOURTH PLANT IN GUANAJUATO 

This company has three more plants in Guanajuato, it is GNK Driveline and are located in Villagran and Celaya.  These plants are building and supplying a wide range of products and automotive transmission systems, to be used on premium vehicles and other more sophisticated.

This company was the first one on the automotive sector to be settled in Guanajuato in 2005 and throughout the years it has expanded its sales on another third part of what they currently market.

Its total investment in the state reaches 546 million dollars, with which they have generated more than 1,300 jobs.
