Coahuila seeks attracting investments from software industry

Hugo Montoya Diaz sworn in
as new president of the Mexican Chamber of Electronics, Telecommunications,
Information Technologies (CANIETI, by its Spanish initials) Coahuila-Durango,
and committed to work together to achieve attracting companies from the sector
that could generate their programming from Coahuila.
He emphasized that their
action plan has several points, underlining their activities to open up to
everyone Chambers, companies, universities and entrepreneurs.
The new administration will
operate under a scheme that includes the creation of 20 vice-presidencies to
facilitate the linkage process, promotion and commercialization of solutions in
information technologies, same that will be focused on specific sectors such as
fintech, metropolis, university, internationalization, among others, where
representatives will be in charge of linking Chambers and companies with
CANIETI.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Schumm,
undersecretary of Economic Development in Coahuila, said that the information
technologies is important and recognized that CANIETI has been operating for
eight years in Coahuila and Durango.
He underlined that
currently global companies leading the markets are technological such as
Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Intel, among others.
“World changes from an
automotive leadership to innovation technologies. Coahuila is strong in the automotive
industry, but now it is important to attract companies from the software
industry that can generate their programming from these lands,” he noted.
Hugo Montoya
considered that during the last three years there has been a progress of 25 % in
encouragement processes for the aerospace industry in the area, therefore he
made clear that one of the challenges of his administration will be achieving
to promote the supply industry for this growth reach 60 percent.
“Although it
is true that Coahuila is a referent in national production of the automotive
industry, the leap has not been given yet to achieve the arrival of a company
dedicated to the aerospace industry, some steps have been given regarding
information technologies, as in three years was achieved making a software for
designs, mapping, human resources management and analysis of new materials, but
now we are pursuing the supply subject,” emphasized the current president of
CANIETI.
