The Clúster Automotriz de Coahuila (CIAC) and the Secretaría del Trabajo del Gobierno del Estado de Coahuila have formalized a collaboration agreement aimed at reinforcing workforce development and employability within the state’s automotive industry—one of the most strategic manufacturing sectors in northern Mexico.
The agreement, signed by Lourdes Cobos, President of CIAC’s Board, and Nazira Zogbi, Coahuila’s Secretary of Labor, establishes a framework for joint initiatives focused on skills development, labor market integration, and specialized training aligned with industry needs.
Aligning Industry Needs with Workforce Development
Through this partnership, CIAC and the state labor authority will coordinate efforts to strengthen the connection between companies and the regional talent pool. The collaboration seeks to promote training programs that respond directly to evolving technological and production demands in the automotive sector, ensuring that workers have access to relevant skills and better employment opportunities.
By fostering closer alignment between the productive sector and workforce institutions, the agreement supports the creation of a more resilient and competitive industrial ecosystem—one capable of sustaining growth as supply chains modernize and production processes become increasingly advanced.
Strengthening Coahuila’s Automotive Competitiveness
Coahuila is home to a robust automotive cluster that plays a key role in Mexico’s manufacturing and export performance. Initiatives that enhance workforce readiness and technical capabilities are essential to maintaining this position and attracting new investment.
The CIAC–Secretaría del Trabajo agreement reinforces a shared commitment to supporting both companies and workers, helping ensure that the state’s automotive industry continues to operate with the talent, specialization, and productivity required in today’s global market.
By promoting collaboration between public institutions and industry organizations, the partnership contributes to building a stronger labor ecosystem—one that underpins long-term industrial development and regional competitiveness.
