The event featured the participation of Eugenio Govea Arcos, Director General of Technical Support at the Ministry of Economy, who outlined the significance of the upcoming review of Article 34.7 of the agreement and its implications for national competitiveness.
Strengthening collaboration for regional competitiveness
During the forum, Javier Marroquín Calderón, Secretary of Economic Development of Tlaxcala, emphasized the importance of coordination among strategic sectors to capitalize on the opportunities generated by the trade agreement between Mexico, the United States, and Canada. His remarks highlighted how regional input is essential for shaping policies that ensure Mexico remains a strong and competitive partner in North American trade.
The forum was part of a nationwide consultation process led by the Ministry of Economy, designed to collect perspectives from the public and private sectors ahead of the USMCA’s formal review. By gathering insights from industry leaders, government officials, and trade experts, the initiative seeks to develop a long-term strategy that promotes innovation, value chain integration, and sustainable growth.
CLAUZ: a voice for Mexico’s automotive industry
For CLAUZ, participation in this forum reinforces its role as a key representative of the automotive sector in central Mexico. Through its collaboration with regional authorities and federal agencies, the cluster continues to advocate for policies that strengthen competitiveness, technological development, and workforce advancement within the automotive and auto parts industry.
By engaging in high-level discussions such as the USMCA consultation, CLAUZ contributes to shaping the roadmap for a more integrated, resilient, and globally competitive Mexican automotive sector.
