The 23rd International Congress of the Automotive Industry in Mexico (CIIAM 2025) opened with a strong call for regional collaboration and competitiveness. During the inaugural session, Francisco González, Executive President of the National Auto Parts Industry (INA), emphasized that North America’s strength depends on working together under clear rules and through deep productive integration.

Hosted in Mexico City, the event brought together more than 300 national and international leaders from the automotive and auto parts sectors to discuss critical topics such as tariffs, nearshoring, global trends, and the future of mobility.

Strengthening supply chains through collaboration

One of the highlights of CIIAM 2025 was the recognition of 16 anchor companies that participated in the first generation of the Supplier Development Program (PDP), an initiative promoted by INA in collaboration with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank.

This pioneering program focuses on increasing regional content, preparing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to meet the challenges of electromobility, semiconductors, and advanced manufacturing. By fostering collaboration between large corporations and local suppliers, the PDP strengthens Mexico’s role as a central hub in North America’s automotive value chain.

The second generation of the program will launch in 2026, with the goal of increasing national content in vehicles and auto parts by at least 15% by 2030.

The companies recognized included Lear Corporation, Rassini (BYPASA SA de CV), BorgWarner Turbo, ISGO, Bosch México, Morse, Peasa Autopartes, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems, All Inject, voestalpine, Gestamp, Marelli, SACRED, Montaplast, Yazaki Corporation, and New Concept Technology.

Honoring leadership and innovation

As part of the congress, INA also presented the 2025 National Automotive Industry Awards, recognizing excellence, leadership, and innovation across the sector. The winners included:

A vision for the future of mobility

With a focus on sustainable growth, innovation, and regional cooperation, CIIAM 2025 reaffirmed Mexico’s role as a strategic pillar of North America’s automotive ecosystem.
